Okay, this is a little bit of a confession…But does anyone else have a practice show? Like a T.V show that you have to turn on in the background in order to get any productive practice in.

Right now mine is The Umbrella Academy.

    What’s yours??

p.s If you haven’t seen The Umbrella Academy you should go watch it right now and let me know if it helped improve your playing

lol.. this is an awesome thread. I used to just watch TV on mute (way back before streaming was a thing😉) – I think the distraction helps, especially if you’re just working scales or “mindless” exercises

I’ve moved on to practice podcasts, but literally the only reason I’m any good is practicing technique while watching TV

I confess to occasional TV practice, to something that makes noise but does not keep my attention. Can’t be anime. I like that too much. Sports is good. So are shallow dramas. Can’t stand watching either.

@Stephen – Yeah, I usually either watch something that I don’t find too interesting or something that I’ve already seen a lot Lol

No, I require as quiet and peaceful of a setting as possible, but with 2 kids and 2 TV and a space all of 5×5 to practice I take what I can get but I do have every morning before work to myself

I will put on certain u-tube videos(non-musical) and grap my instrument and drill parts, do scales, or some mindless exercises. I do better practice with no noise
